Last week, I attended the thought provoking and very interesting UCISA Annual Management conference in Harrogate, where I was promptly elected to the Executive Committee as chair of the Infrastructure Group. For those of you who don't know about UCISA, it's a body that represents the Information Services needs of universities and colleges in the UK. You can find out more here.

- I'm an IT professional with 15 years' experience working in higher education sector in the UK. I am currently working at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where I head up the Technical Infrastructure Group within IT Services. Before that, I was IT Director at Royal Holloway, University of London, and before that, held a variety of posts at the University of Leeds.
